Ever the fan of booze infused vodkas, I thought it would be fitting to share a candy corn vodka recipe. HERE?S THE DEAL: If you have plans to share this deliciousness the weekend before Halloween proper (because Halloween lands on a Wednesday this year), you have to get on making this PDQ. It needs a good couple of weeks of steeping for best results.
What you?ll need:
- 2 cups vodka
- 1/2 cup candy corns
- Mason jar
Place the candy corns in the Mason jar; top with vodka. Let the mixture just sit in a dark place. Occasionally give it a shake. What?s happening: ?The candy corns are slowly dissolving in the vodka, infusing said vodka with candy corn goodness. ADVICE: Once the candy has dissolved, shake the mixture, then give it a taste. Does it need more candy corns? Add them. Too sweet? Add more vodka.
The gig is, the hooch has got to sit a good long while ? at least a week, better if two ? to really steep in the flavor. The point: Early prep/vodka planning is the key to success.
Once the candy corn has fully dissolved, strain the vodka and voil?! You?ve got candy corn infused vodka.
Now that you?ve got your base, be sure to try the Candycorntini:
Candycorntini
- 2 oz. vodka
- 1/2 cup pineapple juice (or orange juice)
- ice
Place ice in a shaker. Add the juice and the infused vodka. SHAKE. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with candy corn (as desired).
Cr?me de la Candycorntini:?
- 2 oz. vodka
- 1/4 cup pineapple juice (or orange juice)
- 4 Tbps crushed?pineapple
- 1/2 cup coconut cream (or coconut milk)
- ice
Place ice in a blender Add the juice, the coconut cream and the infused vodka. BLEND. Pour into a cocktail glass and garnish with candy corn (as desired).
