Selective Travel Belfast wins award for family ... - Business First Online

A leading Belfast travel management business has won an award for its innovative family friendly policies in the workplace.

Selective Travel, which employs almost 50 people at Murray?s Exchange on Linfield Road, won the Small to Medium Enterprise of the Year Award at the Childcare Works Awards 2012.

The awards, organised by the Employers for Childcare Charitable Group, aim to recognise firms that take an innovative approach to family friendly employment initiatives.

Applicants were invited to detail how their family friendly working policies lead the way in excellence and set the standard for others to follow.

As part of its prize, Selective Travel has won ?500 to donate to a charity of its choice.

Selective Travel Managing Director, Mukesh Sharma says the company is very pleased to be recognised in the scheme.

?We have a growing workforce of dedicated people providing services to a wide range of leading organisations including universities, health trusts and all kinds of businesses, and we aim to create a progressive work environment that is both dynamic and flexible,? he says.

?As we grow the company, recruiting the right kind of people is very important, and winning this award will be helpful in communicating the values and approach of the company,? Mr Sharma adds.

Commenting on the 2012 Awards Marie Marin, CEO said: ?Employers For Childcare Charitable Group is delighted to be able to recognise innovative thinking and excellence in family friendly employment practices.?

Innovative initiatives that Selective Travel has put in place to promote a family friendly workplace include: childcare schemes and?part-time options for returning?parents.
